Here's a good write-up; of course this covers more than just heads.

banjo bolts are definatly the toughest. Just get up on top the the motor and feel for them. I think they are 16mm, do not use an open ended wrench, or you will strip it. they are torqued down pretty good.. its ALOT harder trying to put them things back in! and DONT lose that bolt, it costs over 10 dollars from the dealer!!!

bolt and unbolt the heads in sequence, dont go from one side to the other, this is to prevent warping the head caused by uneven pressure of the bolts.I beleive start your way from the outside...

Keep in mind that you don't need to keep the fickly bendable hard line. You can cut them and use rubber hose in parts. MUCH easier to deal with.

The only tip I have is make sure ya got a back brace handy while ya are working.
Still makes my back hurt, but you young studs can take it.

Don't worry 'bout warping anything with cold parts and take and cut the crossover tube behind the intake(after it's off). When ya get it off they make a tool to put the ridge around a tube and ya may be able to borrow one from AZ. Then connect it with the proper size hose and clamps as already has been mentioned.

Re: head removal, looking for tips and tricks

like any student prepping for "the big test" i went throu my entire chiltons and wrote down every step and procedure on several sheets of paper. i do this for any major work as it serves to better plant the knowledge in my fried stoner (years ago) brain. i noticed the smog pump is bolted to the head. no where does it detail removing it or mention it, wtf! ill lookn through the book, i just though that was one hell of an oversight. and yes, i back tracked to all applicable sections of the manual as it told me to go. hmmmmmmm

If you can come across a 19/32 boxed wrench it seems to fit alittle tighter on the banjo bolts. I dont know if 19/32 is slightly smaller than 16mm or not, or if it was just variations in the wrenchs I had but the 19/32s just fit tighter and made removing the banjo bolts nice. Just thought Id add that little tid bit.

I thought the banjo bolts were 15mm. A 19/32 is nearly identical, though a hair bigger.
