Head Milling Question

I've recently discovered that I have several small oil leaks coming from in between the heads and block. I've either got a bad gasket or problems with the head mating surface. When I pull the heads I'm going to have the machine shop check the surface and mill them if necessary. Two questions:

1. If I do need to mill the heads, do I go with an angle mill or flat mill.
2. Will I need to have my intake manifold milled as well. From my research it appears that it's best to leave the intake manifold alone and have the intake surface of the heads milled to correct the angle.

Thanks.

Re: Head Milling Question

Plenty go with a .020 thinner head gasket to raise compression a bit in our cars. I did. I didnt change the intake at all. By that same logic, shaving the heads .020 should have the same effect on the angles, and I'm not having any issues at all. Unless you have a reason to, I dont see why you'd angle mill the surface, unless for proper position of the bolt holes for the intake, but with a small mill, it shouldnt be an issue. Why not just call a machine shop and ask?
