Head info...

I bought a set of heads to go on my project this summer. The casting number is 10207643. The decription reads... Gen. 2 LT1, Reverse flow, 175 intake ports, 68 cc exhaust ports . Thats all fine and dandy, but I bought them because the guy said his book had these listed with 2.02/1.6 valves. Is he right? Where would I go to find this info, or does anyone know? I need to know before I put some money into a port job. Any idea what a decsent port job will run me?

Thanks y'all,
BIZ

Probably not 2.02/1.60. The biggest they offer is 2.00/1.55 in the LT4 heads.

Measure them with a dial caliper. It's the only way to know for sure.

The #643 LT1 head is a later version of the earlier #374 casting. As any LT1 head, the #643 is equipped with the 1.94/1.5 valves.

You guys are positive? I just want to make sure before I go raising hell with this guy. Where can I see the numbers for my self? I'm not saying I don't trust you guys, but I want to be certain. Know what I mean?

If in fact these are the smaller valve size like you say...is it worth me dumping money into a port job? Will the ported head support the CC306 cam, and a prted intake? Let me know. Thanks again guys, you are life savers.

It's a LT(1) head, isn't it? Why not turn the tables, and request that the seller provide tangible proof, the valve size is as he stated, and not an error.
