Head Help

The car is STILL all apart for the xe 224/230 cam and header install. I stopped reassembly to clean up my intake. (pics in sig) Now, with all the stuff I replaced so far, I am thinking about dropping some cash on some cylinderheads or having mine reworked. I have about $1200 I can spend. After the cam and the longtubes the only thing I will add in the future is a vig 2800 converter to the other mods in my sig. I would like to hear some advice from you guys. The car will never see the strip btw. I just want a fun street car that I drive from time to time. Can 40hp increase over my other mods be had for this amount of money? That's what I was hoping for. After searching around, I found three companies that many here are pleased with so I will pick one of those. Things like enlarging the valves, porting this, matching that. ??I am clueless?? I just don't know the hierarchy of what's practically for my application. I would feel pretty dumb calling some of these places and having them ask, "what do you want done?" I would just say, "I don't really know, but here is my $1200 bucks"

Getting the heads done at the same time you do the cam is a great idea. Don't forget the timing chain while it is apart. There are quite a few companies that will port your heads but few good ones.
