Re: Head Gaskets
I have heard it is best to use the old BOLTS if possible. They should be checked very closely and cleaned up, but I am not too sure.

Re: Head Gaskets
That dude was like well, their torque to yeild bolts so you need new ones, and i dont think that i will because thats a bit of money to me for some damn bolts

Re: Head Gaskets
Yeah they are high, maybe someone else will chime in soon and help us both out.

Re: Head Gaskets
I have always been told NOT to reuse head bolts something about them being torqued and then re torqued. Intake bolts I reused mine but for heads I would spend money and buy new.

Re: Head Gaskets
ARP head bolts will be fine, and they're only $55 for the entire set.

Re: Head Gaskets
Ehh that guy is crazy and just trying to make mony. Take them back and get the ARP bolt/stud kit. There alot stronger then stock and they come with a cool sticker. ;)

Re: Head Gaskets
The newer LT1's came with torque to yield head bolts that mustn't be used again because they're stretched to the yield force. Get a set of ARP 134-3601 bolts, they are strong and you can tight/loosen as much as you like.
