head gasket : felpro 1094 : LT1 ??

i've seen a thread talking about a 0.015 head gasket for LT1 : Felpro 1094. this gasket is listed as a GEN 1 gasket . Does it works with LT1 ?? are the LT1 and Gen 1 gasket the same ?

They are NOT the same. The thinnest head gasket I've seen that will work on reverse-flow heads is the SS Impala gasket. I believe that they are just about 1/2 the thickness of the normal LT1 gasket found on the Z28.

You might be able to order through Summit or Jegs if you use the specific part number for a 5.7, LT1, 96 ImpalaSS head gasket. I don't have it at hand. Just about any NAPA or other reputable parts source can provide the number.

If that doesn't work and expense is no consideration you might try:

They sell custom thickness multi-layer steel gaskets.

Mr. Gasket makes the thinnest common head gasket for the LT1. It is .026" thick. The Impala HG is .029" thick.

The stock LT1 HG is about .049" thick.

^ Yep yep, I run the Mr G's and they are thin, The thin Impy felpro's were thicker and designed for Iron heads so they are missing a coating or somthing IIRC.
