Head Gasket?????
I have to agree with the other poster...I've been around LT1s for 10 years and I've never heard of an intake manifold warping. Never. Ever. And in doing a quick search I can't find anyone else who has either. I'd consider it a non-issue.
Valve cover gaskets are easy and cheap to replace. Use the blue Fel-pro gaskets with no RTV.
It is possible for the intake manifold to leak after even 20 minutes if the RTV isn't laid and seated properly.

come on man, i don't know why you are coming after me like this, all i did was make a comment that added to yours, saying that it could have been also leaking from the intake. i did not even say your comment was wrong or anything like that,
you are ruining this kids thread for no reason, taking it way of topic
the aluminum intake manifolds on lt1 cars have been known to warp, nobody said anything about the egr system having anything to do with it either. obviously you have not spent enough time around these cars
and what your saying is that it is possible for your valve covers to leak after replacing gaskets because of a mistake, but not an intake? there are no gaskets in the back there but it is very easy to screw up the bead of sealant when maneuvering the intake into place. your comment makes no sense that it is not possible to be leaking from the intake just because he had it off 7 months ago
it was just another possibility to add to yours, something to look for. but you were right anyway, you win teh big priz0r

I brought up the EGR due to the fact its the cause for the intake to start leaking... The LT1 intake warping is not common at all. I've never seen of, or heard of one that warped. So I'd say its pretty rare.
I replied to you with one sentence. Then you came back at me with some BS like I was trying to flame you. You should have never replied to me in the first place. How is oil going to leak out of the back of the intake and make its way to the driver side of the head???????? You are just at fault as me for derailing the thread. Drop the E-ego, we all play for the same team.
To the TS, sorry for derailing your thread.
I didnt think thier would be so much arguing trying to help others out. The guy is right the intakes are known to leak out of the back almost always due to thier is actually no gasket that covers the front and rear of the intake to the heads. Mine leaked pretty bad for about a year out of the back but never had no coolant problems of any kind. My guess is that your head gasket may have blown around one of the piston areas and may be leaking. And the valve covers would have nothing to do with the car losing coolant either but yeah if thier is a leak which is usually never the case you could use rtv silicone like a champ. Either way i would try to clean the engine up as well as possible wipe things down do a run for about ten minutes and then pull over and look for the leak after doing a leak down test of course.
Do you have coolant lines going to your TB or did you do the TB bypass? Where is your air filter located?

Who said it did? LOL at some of you people that cant read. The guy was not right. They intakes start leaking from years of ERG gasses. The leak has nothing to do with there being no gasket there, other wise the front would leak to.
If there is coolant in the TB then he does not have the bypass done. I think its something he should look into if its the only place that hes finding coolant and oil mixing. There's a chance that a head gasket did get hurt when it over heated. However I don't think coolant and oil are mixing, otherwise he would have had crap all over on the inside of the valve covers. I'm still pretty stumped as to whats going on unless hes losing coolant. If that's the case then hes losing it in a cylinder, and a head gasket is for sure damaged.
headgasket
Sadley I do have the tb bypass done. So far I drove today for 20min and have not seen anything leaking yet. I thought the coolant came from the hose that goes in the valve cover it seems like tons of oil gets sucked up in there from that hose
