Has it ever been settled as to what the stock combustion chamber volume is? I've searched here and the argument seems to be between 54 and 58. My rebuilding the LT1 book says the volume is 58cc. With the setup I'm building 54 put's me at 8.933:1 DCR and 12.7:1 static. 58 puts me at a more comfortable 8.49:1 DCR and 12.08:1 static. I'm thinking I'm going to be O.K. either way, as I run only 93 and we are talking good parts put together by a quality machine shop. You can bet that I'll cc the heads before final assembly though.

Anyways is 8.9 DCR cutting it too close? I plan on a good tune but we are talking mail order as there isn't a shop anywear near that I know of that can burn chips.
