I think a rebuild is in your future before heads/cam.

I'd contact both Lloyd and CMS and talk it over. You list some parts in all 3 options, but none cover the entire picture. Things like fluids, filters, gaskets, and other odds and ends crop up and bloat the overall cost like you wouldn't believe.

Like said before a rebuild may be in the very near future if you go into the top end. If you do, I would get a smaller cam and only rev it to 6k. Rpm's and a high milage motor are not a good combination. How is the condition of your shortblock? I would buy your number 1 combo.

Let Loyd pick your cam after he does the head's then you will have a matched setup. Guarantee it will be better than CMS setup.Talk to Loyd about the HP ya want to make,he will plumb ya up on what ya need.

Your stock lifters will take ya WAY past where ya want to go on HP.

Re: which head/cam setup?

I agree with the others, I would do a budget rebuild before you add any power. It will be MUCH cheaper to do it before you damage anything.

As far as combos go, there are alot of choices out there. My stock heads are ported by a guy named Eric Bradby. You may not have heard of him, but I'm sure that you have of Joe Overton. The Fastest NA LT1 T/A in the world. Eric ported his heads as well. I figured he must know what he is doing, and as my car has shown, he damn sure does. Make a list of the guys running those times and I assure you, it will be a very short one. The best part is the price. I hear that he only charges between 8 and 900 dollars. No stage #s needed. He ports every head to run!
