having problems with this rebuild
having problems with this rebuild
Ok so it's not as easy to rebuild an LT1 as it is an old 350, I admit I may have bitten of more than I can chew.
My problem mostly is the reruning of the EGR and all that pollution contorl garbage, I just don't know what can go and what (if anything) needs to stay. I can't seem to find any detailed pics or anything to guide me through this and I can't find any of the block offs for the ports or anything. Is there something I'm missing? Where can I look?
Please tell me all hope isn't lost...Thanks fellas.

Here is a site that tells you how to remove the Air Pump and it's tubing.

Here is a place that sells the block off plates. There will be 3 all together. Two on the back of the Intake (shown in the pics below) and one on the passengers side manifold or header, IF you have emission hookups on them.

And here is a pic of the EGR block off plates installed on the back of the Intake. Third Pic down. You'll also have one other block off plate that needs to be installed on the passengers side header/manifold if you have headers/manifolds with emissions hookups. Like I stated above.

Also if you have stock manifolds or headers with emissions hook-ups you're going to need to plug them. They are the tubes that stick up on each manifold/header on the very top. To plug them go to your local NAPA store and get two M22 oil plugs. They were used on the earlier BMW's and fit perfectly into our cars emissions hook-ups. Of coures if you have headers without the emissions hookups, you won't need them or the third block off plate that I talked about above.
Sorry if I made you feel like you don't know anything. I just figured that I'd give you all the info that I could.
