Have clutch question

I was practicing doing a burnout the other night. Playing the clutch and brake with one foot and gas with the other. I thought I was doing it right. Took off got up to 3rd gear, stopped took off again and couldn't get out of 1st. Will shift but is very hard to do acts like clutch isn't in but it is. When in neutral clutch pedal vibrates and chatters. When you stop it will die, with the clutch fully engaged it still tries to roll like the clutch isn't pressed in. Is my clutch screwed or what is the problem. If you've had this happen or know what it is, I would greatly appreciate your info, thanks, shawn

Well when my stock one wore down, It did not do what you are describing, but from what you are saying, I'm not sure, but look into your hydaulics, did you check your fluid resevour? Has anything leaked, such as the slave cylinder?

It might be time that your clutch just needs replacement, Not too positive on that, but a bad burnout will indeed screw your clutch into no good, I can tell you that from experience. With a line lock there is no resistance on the rear brakes to hold those tires from spinning. Put it into too high of a gear and the tires eventually grabbed so it smoked the clutch for short time. It needed replacing anyways.

the clutch i have now has only 6,000 miles on it so i'm pissed that it's messed up already. Should I go with a centerforce or which kind should be good. Not stock they suck, I don't want hard pedal but just a strong clutch.

i wouldnt wast money on those high priced clutshes
call around and find a shop that will build you one the shop i use is "waco brake and clutch" they actually specialize in hevier equipment but do exellant on f-bodies

you can also reuse the solid disc and have the pads replaced later

but i have seen only one wear out but his pressure plate was jacked up is why
