Has anyone tried this?

Was thinking about taking my EGR and Crossover tube and having them welded shut. So that way I can have them on for visual state inspections but they are sealed off. What do ya think?

Re: Has anyone tried this?

Friend of mine purchased some SLP shorties that were welded shut at the EGR pipe so the EGR wouldnt work but still looked functional.. I think its a good idea.

Anyone else think this is a valid idea. I know a set of block off plates are only $30 but every little bit saved helps plus it would help me pass visual emissions and I wouldnt have to find a hook up

Re: Has anyone tried this?

I used a piece of sheet metal for a while that I cut to fit under the EGR tube on the exhaust manifold. I was getting a code 0400 for the EGR after I installed my SLP's. Later I didnt have to pass emmissions anymore so I removed the whole system and installed block off plates.
