Has anyone tried this?

Has anyone pulled off the opti without pulling the waterpump off? I ask because this would make my like 10 times easier. I need to change my opti, but cant do any "major repairs" in my apartment complex's parking lot. So I figure that if I can do the opti without spilling rad fluid all over the place I would be good. Anyone done it? Anyone know if it can be done?

I believe that would be next to impossible.

considering that the cam powers the opti and the water pump that would be impossible. Find a friend that will let you do the install at thier place. Although, I don't know how **** your apt. complex is, but my friend and I did two long tube header installs at his apt. complex with the car 3 feet in the air and they didn't complain. He has the same policies.

Would it make a difference if I were to have an electric water pump?

No, because the opti is partially behind the pump.

Some sort of remote electric water pump would make changing the opti a snap, though.
