Has anyone tried this
Has anyone tried this
I was thinking about it, and how far has a STOCK bottom ended LT1 been pushed. I'm talking heads/cam blower combo. Has anyone ever heard of this being done on a totally stock bottom end, and what was the outcome? I know that a lot of the times when heads go on, they are milled thus upping the compression ratio (like myself for example
), but would an 11.0 compression ratio be too much for a 6 psi blower? Concievably, if a head/cam combo was putting about 400 to the ground on the stock bottom end, then a 6 psi blower would up that to at least 500 at the wheels properly tuned, right? I know that it probably wouldn't live a long and healthy life, but everyone needs a good reason for a rebuild.
I'm just wondering because in the six short years I've really been into this now, I've never seen any kind of documentation (read magazine article) of this being done, and I'm considering giving it a shot.
