I read you cant pull out your oil pan with the motor and trans in the car. Ive jacked up the motor and lowered the k-member some but it still wont come out. Havent tried turning the crank yet. Just wondering if Im fighting a no win situation. Thanks

It will come out...did you remove the oil level sensor?

Turn the crank, thats probably your problem. I can be done by only jacking the motor up off of the motor mounts. No need to drop the K.

Leave the motor mounts in, jack motor carefully by front of crankshaft/crank hub/pulley. This will tilt the motor and make is easier to slide the pan out.

Re: Has anyone pulled out their oil pan with the motor and trans in the car on an M6

I just ran into the same problem today. I had to unbolt the rear trans. mount cross member and lower the trans about 2" to allow the front of the engine to be raised a little further, I barely found enough clearance to get the pan past the flywheel housing. The crankshaft needs to be rotated until the foward counter weight is up out of the way. My car has SLP headers and the left header got into the left engine mount bracket so I had to unbolt it from the frame.
The primary problem I had was that the flywheel housing was jammed against the body and I could not raise the front of the engine high enough to get clearance to remove the pan. Hope this helps

No thank you. I dont have good enough luck to try that one.

I finally got it done Friday. I had to pull the pan cause it wasnt flat anymore. I needed to straighten it out. But all is good except the fuel rail now. I was tightening my fuel pressure guage on the valve onteh back and tore the fuel rail . See what I mean by bad luck. But thanks everyone
