Has anyone heard of Converting SB1 L98s to LT1 intake?

There was a guy a while back, LT1 John, that was installing LT1 intake on earlier blocks, despite the reverse flow of the LT1 manifold. He would drill to the gasket and put a spacer under the distributer.
Has anyone heard of this???
Have people been making it work?
Info requested.
Thanks
Evan
