I got one but haven't had the time to put it on. (I am waiting for when I build my motor since it is such a fun thing to do with the water pump and crank pulley in the way.)

I don't see why people would buy just the cap and rotor for all that work and then the other part of the opti could fail in 6 months. I haven't put in a opti yet but I'm sure as hell going to put in a whole new one when I do.

I think there is a good reason it is vaporware.....they finally decided to build a complete distributor.....see MSD's website for details on the new LT1 Pro Billet Distributor. Looks like they have taken care of most of the opti's issues, plus have built in the ability to adjust timing +/- 5 degrees with the turn of a screw.

I looked on their site and can not find the LT1 Pro Billet Distributor. I just found the cap and rotor.
