harmonic balancer

Hey guys I noticed when i was running my engine my serpentine belt was like wobbly,so I took it off n noticed it's ripped a bit like at the end it,n peeled like a twizzler.

I noticed what caused it was the harmonic balancer is chipped n part of it has Sharp edges n that's why the belt is bad.

so I'm trying to get the balancer off so I can get a new one put on,n I'm having a hard time getting the part off,I'm using the harmonic balancer removal tool to get it off n no luck any better tools u guys know of

I don't know if the 94 Z28 has the same pulley as the 95, but does it look like this in Shbox photo, if so maybe this will help.

Re: harmonic balancer

you can buy a new replacement Damper at most auto part store. Doorman likely the cheapest

Number: 594-017

You don't need to replace or remove the hub from the crank...just 3 bolts for the Damper

Re: harmonic balancer

Usually there is a bit of rust built up on the hub...you should probably yank the balancer back off and clean the hub and the balancer. You'll get longer belt life that way....
