Hard warm starts

I have this hard starting problem, and I can't seem to find it...The only time it does this is after the car has been ran..Dead cold, it'll fire up easy as can be..but after its been ran, it'll want to crank for a while...heh..So, to get it to start, I have to give it 1/2-3/4 throttle, and it'll start. So far, I've replaced the ECT sensor, and the ICM. Neither of them, really helped with the problem..I've done tests for the fuel pump, and leaky injectors...I havent tested for the fuel pressure regulator, b/c from what it seems, it has to be "heat" related...Any thoughts? I need help!!

I have the exact same problem and was told to check the Idle Air Control Valve. I was told that it could be stuck open causing unexpected air to enter leaning the Air/ Fuel Mixture while starting. I'm also going to change my intake manifold gasket if this does'nt work. Notify me if you find a solution!

I recently did a test for my fuel pressure regulator, and there isn't any gas residue, or smell in the vaccum line. so, any other ideas? I'll have to check on the IAC valve

I had the same problem with my 350 TPI. Tried everything, my last resort was checking the injectors. I pulled my fuel rail and primed my pump. After a couple of minutes a few injectors would drip causing my engine to be flooded with fuel on warm starts.

Sent my injectors to rich at cruzinperformance.com and it starts great!

How do you test your injectors? I have disassembled the fuel rail before and taken out the injectors to be cleaned, but have not tested them. Can I please have a detailed description of how to do this. Thanks

basically, unbolt your fuel rail from your intake, raise the injectors/rail off the intake just enough so you can see the bottom of the injectors. Then prime your fuel system, see if any of the injectors leak or drip fuel out..

All you have to do is turn the key foward. But do not start the car. You should hear your fuel pump whine for a couple seconds when you do this.
