Hard to start for about a year now..need help
Did a build up last winter. Car hard to start ever since. Sometimes she fires right up whether hot or cold. When she is hard to start, what I have to do is click the key a few times and she starts. Lately I have had to click the key more than a few times to get her to start. Any ideas? bad ground? bad starter? improperly wire starter? etc........

Wow that sounds exactly like my problem. I would say its the fuel system. I've been trying other stuff to get it to go away but it's still there. Not to mention my pump makes this whining noise all the time that changes pitch based on how many accessories I have on. Luckily the dremel tool and cutting wheels are already bought. Looks like I can do it over new years so when the pump comes in all I have to do is drop it in.
Hey guys my car used to be hard to start and then one day it wouldn't start at all it was like the battery was dead. My problem was the ignition switch that sits on the steering column under the dash. Changed it and now she starts as soon as you turn the key. Just a suggestion you guys might want to look into it.
Hmmm....
One day I came out to my car and it took me a few tries to even get the key to turn in the ignition, then when I did try to start it it just sat there, power to all accessories and pump, no power to starter. Ended up pulling the ecm fuse out and putting it back in, then it started...? These cars just either seem to start right up every day for years at a time or else have some mystery quirk that won't go away.
Every day I get more confused.
Fuel? Sensor? Switch?

I used to have to crank my car for at least 5-10 seconds and sometimes stop and then crank it again to turn it over. I changed plugs, wires, fuel filter, cleaned injectors, opti and nothing. I then decided it was my fuel pump, turns out it was the plastic straw looking hose the fuel goes through after it is pumped out of the pump. The straw had a crack in it, so the engine would prime up the fuel system and all the fuel would then just leak right back out. I put in a racetronix pump by dropping the tank and bam fires right up everytime with no hesitation. My bet is its the same damn little straw. but try the easiest stuff first, cuz the fuel pump was easy with a lift, but without one, it would suck. -Michael
