Hard to start
Hard to start
My stroked LT1 is hard to start when it is cold out.
I know now that I should have installed a high torque starter, but I didn't.
If the battery just came out of the charger, it starts easily. After a number of starts it has a very hard time starting. The alternator seems to be working fine.
Would it be a bad idea to install a second battery in the trunk? I think that would give it the boost it needs to start every time.......
Just wandering if this is a terrible idea or not.....

Hi-torque starter. Pick one up from Jegs for $140 - half the cost of a new battery. Installing a second battery would probably fry the starter, among other things, not to mention add another 30 pounds or so. There is enough potential energy in one good 12V battery to start your engine. You just need the starter with the umph.
