Hard sound and shaking...

This sound and shaking happens when I first start the car in the morning. In the video you cant really appreaciate the hard sound (it sounds like the sound a brick would make if you would throw it to a wall, not metal, but hard and like a thump). The sound is produced when I crank the car. It has no problem starting whatsoever and after it makes it, I can immediately turn it off and start it again and the sound, nor the shaking will be present.

Play close attention as the camera es placed flat on the steering wheel and the shaking produced is as hard as the car bounces when it is started. I the camera was taped to the steering wheel so it didnt "jump" farther than the car, it moved totally with the car, well you get the idea.

Please try and help me diagnose this problem.

Re: Hard sound and shaking...

Well, my guess is that you have a leakey injector.

Fuel may be puddeling in 1 of your cylinders, and when you start it,
it all burns up in an uncontrolled RICH fart which is the thud.
If you were to turn the car off and turn it back on, the puddle would have been burned up already. which would explain why it only does it the first time.

This is just my guess.... Allow others to chime in and give their .02

Re: Hard sound and shaking...

that is exactly what it sounds like... I'm in no way a techie, but I do know something about cars and I'd just like to say that this board has helped me understand everything better...

Do you know how that is fixed? or do I have to buy a new injector? Or would I be better of Replacing all 8?

Re: Hard sound and shaking...

You need to sent it to a shop where performs a professional injector cleanings or replace it...Better option will be replace the whole set up because this problem tells you the others may be faulty too or they are going to fault in short time ahead. Besides, you need a fuel injector matched with the others...
The Delphi/lucas 24 lbs are better and cheaper than stock

Re: Hard sound and shaking...

Thanks guys, I hope the diagnostic is correct. BTW, does anyone know of a good write up to replace them? I have one of those Haynes Repair Manuals, but I dont trust it very much.

If I were you I would pull the rail and prime the system a few times and see if it is actually leaking. Otherwise you just bought and replaced good injectors. Just a though
