Hard dry red rust colored film inside oil filler cap
Hard dry red rust colored film inside oil filler cap
When I changed my oil today I noticed a red rust colored film covering the inside of the oil filler cap.
It was a dry hard film had to scrub it with a hand cleaner cloth to remove most of it.
Car has no problems that I am aware of.
If I had to guess I would say that it might be Gas residue, but since dexcool is the same color I am not sure.
Has anyone else seen this?
Thanks

All the time. My wife's Durango has it all the time. It's OK find something else to worry about. It's not from short trips either
