I am was wondering witch rod was batter and what kind of rod is best in an lt1...I was looking at eagel CRS6000B3D-L19 H Beam Connecting Rods sb sbc Chevy 6.0" L19 ARP but wnat sure if they would fit. I do not know if you have to by special rods for an lt1..im building a 383..

 

It is all going to depend on what you are using the car for. The standard SB Chevy rod works and as far as the H or I beam, I went with the H beam in my buildup because I am going forced induction, it may be overkill but I would rather over-build it, I just feel that they are stronger. Some say that some of the I beams are just as strong and are lighter, therefore you will get better throttle response and less rotating mass. If you are going natuarlly aspirated and wanting to turn higher RPM's, use a good I beam, but yes the H beam's will fit but will require a little more clearancing.
