Question H/C car with Dynomouth exhaust and stock I pipe? Is it hurting me?

I have a Heads / cam on my Lt1, I have Slp headers. For a cat back have the stock I pipe with a dynomax bullet welded into it. Its called the Dynomouth to some people. I'm wondering if the stock 2.75 I pipe is hurting my performance here?

Thanks

You might notice a small improvement with an aftermarket 3". But nothing big. I would say you should put it on your "to do" list, but it's not something that's killing your performance. Generally the manifolds are the biggest power robber on domestic V8s.

i would say definitely, it could be bottlenecking an otherwise nice flowing exhaust.

I just recently pulled my shorties/stock I pipe off and went to longtubes and true 3" duals. Was at 350rwhp through a stock catback and a flowmaster. Gettin dynoed on Friday, we will see, expecting 370rwp or so. I will post results.

Depends on your power level I think. If the engine was stock then its not holding back much but with H/C it becomes more of a problem as power is increased. I have a cam and longtubes and put a cutout in after the Y and picked up 26 rwhp and 18 rwtq eliminating the stock I-pipe and flowmaster. The only way to tell is to dyno and then drop the exhaust and redyno.
