H/C + 1.6rr price list -- does this look reasonable to you?

I'm pricing some upgrades to my car and i wanted to see if ya'll think what i came up with is reasonable. Once i had everything i wanted down, the overall cost was above $3000, which kind of surprised me:

Stage1 Ported LT1 heads/cam combo $1,300.00
Ford Motorsport Fuel Injectors, 30 lb. $299.99
Comp Cams Pro-Magnum 1.6rr $272.00
Comp Cams Hi-Energy hardened pushrods $36.95
Comp Cams "High Energy" Rocker Arm Studs, 7/16" $29.95
GM Performance Parts Pushrod Guideplates $26.32
GM Extreme Duty Timing Set $299.99
LT1 Cylinder Head & Camshaft Swap Gasket Package $194.99
Comp Cams OE Replacement*Hydraulic Roller*Lifters $219.99
ARP SBC High Performance Hex Cylinder Head Bolts $57.74
Dyno tune $500.00

TOTAL $3,237.92

Any comments? Anywhere i can cut corners, or where the price seems off? I would like to do this right, but i was hoping to spend something more along $2000-$2500 on the parts.

You can knock off around $200 by going with a Cloydes doubleroller, You will also want a LT4 knock modular... New fuel pump to play it safe... A head/cam gasket set and pushrod guide plates I think... Hope this helps im sure someone that knows more will step in

Get your intake ported with the heads/cam as well since it's off.

Depending on milage you can reuse your stock Lifters, and rockers without any problems. You can also get a tune from Madz28 or PCM4less for around $100. You will loose out on some things over a dyno tune, but the car will still perform very well. You dont need the extreme duty timing chain, personally i like the stocker, it can be had for around $30-40.

dont forget about your oil and antifreeze. small costs but little things like this will nickel and dime you to death. ARP thread sealant is a must have. dont go with a double roller unless you want to get an electric water pump too. definitely get it tuned. hmm...thread lockers and some copper sealant. dont forget about some new header gaskets. i wouldnt worry about getting the intake ported. shipping will cost some money too. i would also put on new plugs and wires if you havent done so in a while. and might need some new injectors. hmmm, some money for beer....for celebrating when you get it all done.

some personal advice from another person who was on a budget, add an extra $500 or more for this project when you decide to do it. i blew my budget by a couple thousand. given my project was a little bigger than yours also, but always plan on spending more than you intend to. you can thank me for that advice later.

The stock intake being ported will help a little bit with the flow..

Cam=$250-$300
Stage 1 heads and intake do yourself for $40 (porting kit)
If you buy all the gaskets separatly and your fluids it comes out to be $140ish
Roller rockers should net you $200 for some scorpions or harland sharp
Also if your going with a lift over .540 your going to need to change out the springs too.

Lloyd Elliot Stage 1 $1000
Ford SVO 30 # $220 Summit Racing
Comp pro mag $265 Summit Racing
Comp push rod $35.95 Summit Racing
Comp 7/16 studs $29.00 Thunder Racing
Guide plates $25.00 GM
GM stock Timing set $85-100 GM
Fel-pro 1074 Head gaskets $70.00/pair Summit Racing
Misc. Gaskets $30 Autozone
Comp. O.E. lifters $189 Speed Inc.
ARP head bolts $52 Summit Racing
Madz28/pcmforless $115 60 day free updates, not sure on Madz28, though
Figure hi on timing set I came up with 2050(rounding up a bit). Figure about 20% for Misc. cost and notice most comes from Summit so figure 8.95 shipping, one time. Shipping adds up way quick, especially if all you are doing is nickel and diming a cheaper price.GM and Autozone charges nothing for shipping.
You should be able to do it all for 2500. Lloyd sets up the heads so no worrying about springs, retainers, etc.
While this is just a guesstimate, it should be close and you may be able to do it for cheaper.

Used crane gold 1.6 RR's $150
Madwolf tune $150, 1 hour dyno time $100, send chart back to madwolf for some tweeking and updated chip $50

That seems better I would get the Mr Gasket 5716 Head Gaskets they are 50.00 from autozone(.023 comp thick!!), Also I know quite a few people that have had good luck with the CAT performance rocker arms off ebay, a set can be had for $180.

The 5176 has a compressed thickness of . 026 but best of all summit has them for 32.00 for the pair.

You should be able to find better deals on Pro Mag rockers, and LT4 Extreme duty timing chain set for sure. I paid $249 for rockers and $180 for the timing set.
