Guys Who Have Installed MACS - A few tips for me

Hey guys, wondering if any of you who have installed MAC headers out there could give me a few tips on my header installation. I got MAC headers (coated) with an off road pipe and stage 8 locking nuts. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

take your time, wear gloves, and make sure no kids are around when you unleast the f-word 1 or 15 times on a bolt.

Macs

I agree, take your time. Mine took me 10 hours, but I think I used the F-Word more than 15 times

It's pretty simple actually. Just make sure you take all the plugs out and also take your time.

If you route all the plug wires correctly the first time you wont have any problems with burning them either.

Hey, AENIMA95z28
Where did you get your coated Mac headers? I couldn't find one ceramic coated!
Thanks!

Get rid of that cheap band clamp for the #1 primary, and buy a 1 5/8" exhaust clamp.

Carquest, Advance, etc. should carry them. If not, stop buy a muffler shop and get one.

Even with the U-clamp, mine still leaks at the slip tube. I packed it with header sealant, which just blew out in a couple of weeks and started leaking again. Next time they come off, I'm just going to remove the steering linkage and MIG weld the S.O.B. together and put the header in as one piece.

The install isn't bad if you're fairly experienced with cars. But still be prepared to discover some new words/phrases you never thought existed. That damn oil dipstick tube almost made me empty a clip full of 9mm bullets into the car.
