Guys runnin 12's inside.

I'm on a quest as you once were,to hit the 12 spot. Here is my best time so far.My 60'time was 1.98,and my quarter was 13.33@103.7mph on BFG's.I want to get in the 12's without a TC or Cam cause I'm waiting to buy my rearend for those mods.I can't use LT's cause of emissions.I just need about 20-25 horsepower for that .3.Any advice would be nice.

1.6roller rockers and a set of LT4 springs will get you 10-15 hp. You'll get added lift, a tad more duration at .050 (because of the faster valve opening rate) and a tad more valve overlap. Basically it increases the lift "area under the curve."

Hook up that NOS

If not that a cutout, the RR's and a little more work on the 60' time and you may be there. Without those a good TC would almost certainly do it along with your 4:10's

Cutout dropped about 2 tenths for me, but I have a standard and can stand to lose some low end power because we have infinite stalls. Don't move your powerband too far up in the rpms if you don't plan on having at least some stall. power in lt1s starts to really come on after 2000 rpms.

If you still have the stock torque converter get a 9/11 from PTS and you'll be there. And yeah lose some weight. I took over 1/2 second out of my car by losing 400lbs and it was free. The converter will really wake the car up. Here is a link:

A couple of things you can do....loss some wieght off the car(200# = .1) .....get your 60' down to 1.8 or less. Disconnect the front sway bar and get an air bag to help 60' time. You can also take the serpentine belt off at the track to free up a few ponies. Your biggest oppertunity is improveing 60'.

He he. Actually my car is currently more than 500lbs light. I haven't weghed it lately but it was at 2920lbs before I removed most of the accessories and the air box. It is prolly under 2800lbs buy now. It is a drag car so I removed everything not needed for drag racing. Although not recent pics it should give you some idea. Don't laugh, it is going to be a single digit drag car someday.

Lightbulb Don't forget.

Don't forget to get yourself a set of ET streets. They were good for at least 2 tenths on my car.

That gives new meaning to the term "stripper" option

You're not the only one who said that but if you saw what was under the mat you would understand why I did that. It's down right fugly under there.
