Buddy i'm not the only one. Look at Shoebox's sig. When i first got started here and asked these questions people told me to do a search. We get tired of answering these questions that appear everyday. No one has a problem answering new questions if they can. It just takes up everyones time answering and it takes up internet space to post something that has been posted several times a week. I can't tell you how many time's i've read countless threads on cc306 drivability on this board. I bet i've seen Marcin post a 100x's talking about the drivability with this cam alone because he was happy with it.

Re: Guys with the CC306

Let me start off by saying that I did do a search but unfortunatily had already started this thread. I still didnt really have luck finding what I was looking for. If me asking questions on here is "wasting peoples time" and they feel the same way then maybe that person is too busy to be hanging around on a car message board. With that being said I have looked at a few of the vendors and found one I beleive is called the CC305 it described it as being milder then the CC306 and looked to be more streetable. Does anyone have any experience with this camshaft??

Re: Guys with the CC306

selecting a cam shaft is a very important step. You need to do some reading up(using searches). You need to learn what certain specs of the cam mean. Duration, LSA, Overlap and many other. Picking the right cam can make you love your car or hate your car, it can make you happy with it or very disappointed. Many people on here spend months deciding what cam to chose. The CC305 is barely bigger than the hot cam. Hotcam's duration being 218/228 and the CC305's duration being 220/230 i believe. They both have slower ramps compared to the XE series. It would probably help if you told what you are trying to achieve, do you have emissions? is your car a daily driver? Pretty Much all the XE serie cams are more streetable (if you want to know why, search). They tend to make more low end to mid range power and don't rev as high. They also have less overlap compared to other cams of the same duration. Overlap = bad for emissions. So it seems like the XE's are perfect cams but they have their downsides too (a search would fill in the missing info)

Re: Guys with the CC306

I am really just looking for something that is pretty streetable with this being my daily driver. I want to make some decent power but not too wild but something with a nice crackling sound. I plan on getting the PCM tuned by one of the 2 mail order guys here on the boards. I live in Indiana and we dont have emissions testing so thats really not a concern right now. I was looking at the hotcam bc i know alot of people on here love it and its very streetable, but i wanted maybe something a tiny bit bigger, like the CC305. I did a seach on the CC305 last night and it seems like its a pretty decent cam and i think i read its good with nitrous which is a factor bc i plan on using about a 100 shot. As far as the cam specs and such I am not really familiar with it all bc i have never looked at changing cams in any of my cars. I pretty much know what everything means except for the lsa?? i think its call. I am not sure what thats means so if someone could explain that then i would appreciate it. I am not just going to rush into buyin a cam. I dont even have the money at the moment to buy it, I am going to make this a winter project. Right now I am trying to get as much info and suggestions as I can before I buy one bc i know if i got stuck with something i hated then i wouldnt be able to stand it. So far most of thie information i got has been very helpful.

Don't use the LT4 springs with the 306. They are only good to a .525 lift. And at that they are marginable. The 306 has close to a .580 filt on 1.6 rockers. A .600 lift spriing or bigger is a must with this cam or the springs will break. Good luck.

A buddy of mine sprays 150 shot on a 305 cam in his S10.. ran 11.11 @ 120mph I think. That cam does extremely well in his motor.

Re: Guys with the CC306

I have a cc306. I would not trade it for anything other than a custom cam. As you can see I have AUTO with a 3200 stall, Ion tuned mine and it does GREAT in town and on the highway. I could write you a little book on this cam but I'm to tired right now . In my opinion there is NOTHING bad to say about this cam. If you have ?'s PM me and I'll anwser all I can tomorrow.

I've got the cc305 and it's for sale! I went 12.501 @ 109.7 N/A with typical bolt-ons and this cam pm me if you're interested lift is .510 on intake and exhaust and 114 LSA( making it an excellent p/a cam)

Re: Guys with the CC306

I suggest the 224/230. It has more duration but steeper ramps so it will act like its smaller. It will also make more low-mid range power. The reason they say the cc305 is a good cam is because sometimes its ground on a 114lsa but sometimes its ground on a 112 so it wouldn't be as good for nitrous then.
