gutting my cat.

I live in a state and county that requires NO emmisions testing, is it worth it to gut it. The motor is a 383.

yes it's worth it. you could either gut the cat or you cant just cut the cat out and put on off road pipe in. you can either buy it or just make one. you can getsome exhaust from your local muffler place and have each end expanded , slip it on then weld it or clamp it. cost about $10 thats will flow slitly better than a hollow cat.

hollow cat

but the hollowed out cat would be better than what it has right now (a Cat)??? I will do a "test pipe" eventually.

Manual one is best, I would think remote operated ones would leak after awhile but I am not certain.
It would just let you uncork the exhaust whenever you wanted.

I may do it, but for now...

I will just bust out all the catalyst and gut it.
