You might actually lose just a little torque, but it will definately be a lot louder. I love the way my sounds with out the cat.

I gutted mine. as far as hp goes it's not going to be a lot. i have headers, borla and a gutted cat and it's very loud! before you do it make sure they don't do an emisions (sp?) test where you live.

It will be considerably louder than before. I gutted mine back in the day(1995), but if I were doing it now rather than going through the trouble and work of gutting the cat I would just remove it and have an offroad pipe welded up. Keep in mind that if you have emissions where you live this is not a good thing to do.

Mine was gutted and it was louder, but it had a raspiness to it that I did not like, so I put a high flow on.

I have a y-pipe with a gutted cat i sell you cheap. That way if you dont like it you can always switch back, and if you have emissions you can put your y-pipe on. Ita of a 93z.

With my mac headers and cat back flowmaster the car sounded surprisingly quiet !! Once i put the off-road pipe on it got twice as loud. It sounds so freaking awesome i love it. (still not illegally loud cause the flowmaster does its job) I have a hook up on smog. but if you dont, get an offroad pipe, so you wont have a headace when it comes time to smog. cats sux, screw smog, lose the $hit !!

Off Road pipe go ahead.

Gutted CAT, well I wish I didnt gut mine. It was cool for a week or so, but I know it wasnt flowing as good as it used to / it was a loud that didnt sound too good.
