Gutted Cat

Does Gutting the Cat throw off any kind of senors?

You should be in the clear my friend. On the OBD-I cars, you will be fine. No codes will be thrown!

That's right OBD-1 are okay with gutted cats, but OBD-2's need the 02 sims to keep the SES light away.

Could a clogged cat on an OBD I cause enought exhaust to build up to make O2 read wrong/ throw a code?

93-95 cars are fine. I can verify that with a perfectly hollow cat - I keep getting the EGR code because the valve is clogged, but otherwise, none! Hack away!

If you have air tools, get a air hammer. It'll take 10 min and no effort to get it hollow

For offroad use only. I only place my hollow cat on the car for off-road use and would NEVER think to using off-road equipment on the road.
