The oil guage needle on my guage cluster (97' Z28) is broken. I was thinking I could just replace the whole guage cluster for $50 with a Z28 junk part - but I'm worried about the odometer.

I would think that the odometer information would be stored in the car computer somewhere and not in the gauge cluster itself. It is an LCD style guage cluster.

Can I just replace the guage cluster without worrying about screwing with my odometer reading?


Also, is it possible to just get a replacement oil guage needle? Nobody I have talked to has any clue.

BTW, it is only the needle that is broken (to my knowledge) and not the mechanism itself.
