Grrr!! TB Bypass Help Needed w/n
Grrr!! TB Bypass Help Needed w/n
Allright...I'm making very slow progress on this.
It's a 96 Camaro, so I have the "L" hose that goes from TB to steam pipe on passenger side.
Problems:
Can't get Driver's side hose off. Is there a trick to this that I don't know???
Also, can't get Pass. Side hose off TB. Same question as above.
Any help greatly appreciated!!!!

Can you get the clamps off? If you damage the short hose don't worry because you don't reuse it on a '96.
I cut a few inches off the hose to the radiator too since it was a little to long once you put it on the steam pipe.

I just cut the hose on the passenger's side down the middle to make it easy to get off since I wasn't going to reuse it, grabbed a pair of pliers to get that damn clamp to loosen, also used a flathead screwdriver as leverage to move it. As for the drivers side, I just did the plier/screwdriver trick and after I got it off I removed the factory clamp and put a new screw-type hose clamp on it so make it easier if I need to remove it later on. I plan on doing that to all of my factory clamps that are like the ones on the coolant hoses, those things are a paint in the ***.
Thanks guys!!
I just finished up. Ended up cutting that short L-shaped hose. That was the hard one. The driver's side I just twisted around the vacuum intake back and forth with some pliers and it came off easy.
Now I have to get that dang alternator support back on. seems it's torqued a little off line...this will be fun.
Working on this car is an excersize in patience.

I was also having problems with that, any write up's I've only seen pictures of a pre96.So you take off the line that goes to the radiator, then the L shaped rubber elbow. What do you do after that, there is a hard line that goes into the L.Which way do you connect them, and what do you do to the lines that are inop.
Just connect the end of the hose that was on the drivers side of the throttle body (the one that goes to the radiator) to the hard line that goes to the back of your heads. You do not need to reuse the short hose. All you should need to buy is one clamp to connect these. You can use 3/8" vacuum caps to cover the fittings on the throttle body if you want.

There are seveal there and they include isntructions and pictures for pre and post 96 cars.
Hoses are a major PITA
But I've seen the dynos. 5-7 RWHP. Cost minimal....at least in terms of money. Otherwise it costs a lot of patience! But now that I'm done it looks allright. I also installed the 16o thermo for summer. Car's running at least 10 deg cooler on city streets.
Uh oh...gotta go change my sig again!
