Grinding/Churning Noise starting in first?
I have an M6 and I hear a rather loud grinding/churning noise coming from the front of the tranny area whenever I start off in 1st a little too slowly. On the other hand if start off a little more aggressivelyl, no nearly enough to break the tires loose or anything the sounds won't be there. I also notice that if I start off slow but don't release the clutch so soon the sound won't be there. I've been told by some people that this is normal and told by others it's the pilot bearing.
Now when I'm just idling and I push in the clutch it doens't sound any different than when the clutch is disengaged. So I don't think it's the pilot bearing but I could be wrong.
Basically I'm asking if this is normal and if not what needs replacing?
