grinding alternator to fit aftermarket valve covers ?
i have researched alternator grindind and valve cover denting but i still cannot get my alternator back on ...is there different size height of valve covers i think mines to tall ...i have rollers and cannot use the factory valve covers can someone who has done the alternator grinding measure their valve covers and tell me the height ...i cannot dent my valve covers they will break...and i have researched alt relocation but will be expensive ........but i think smaller valve covers will be too....

Don't be afraid grinding your valve covers. I have tall ones too. After shaving alternator : they are fitting. Tight but but fitting. If you have an email i can send you pics

I have the GM chrome valve covers on my LT1. I "modified" the corner of the valve cover using a towel and wooden mallet...just takes a small amount of "modification" and the alternator fits fine.

Also, I have 1.6 roller rockers, and the GM valve covers are standard heighth. Taller covers will simply need a little more "modification". That should be a lot easier than grinding the alternator, imo.
