Great work Madwolf!!!

I was able to get ahold of Ion today because my car was in need of a drastic tune. My car was backfiring, studdering, no power, running lean, basically everything you could think of...

I sent him my mods and he was able to work out either 90% or 100% of the bugs. I am not sure if its the tune or if its me.

The car pulls amazing from 3k on up, however below 3k the car stumbles and kind of surges (feels like someone is pressing and depressing the gas). The car also makes this weird clack sound below 3k rpm, like either the headers are hitting the engine bay, or the car is backfiring. It's really hard to tell which it is, but it defiantly is loud. I have poly motor mounts and the headers are not hitting the engine bay when at idle, and it goes away after 3k rpm. It is defiantly coming from the engine bay though.

My question is, can incorrectly gapped plugs cause your car to backfire? It is like a loud pop/clack sound. It is a newly rebuilt motor.

Thanks again to Ion for getting me the tune with such short notice. His customer service is 100% and I cant say enough about his work. He basically took my car from bearly working to a beast in seconds! Well worth the money! Best mod yet!

Check your plugs/wires. An incorrect gap on the plugs could cause a misfire.

yes ion is the man, i meant to make a post awhile back, i had him do a tune for my cam 234/241 and 30# injectors and it ran great, but being the powerholic that i am, i went ahead a got it dyno tuned as soon as i got the chance, only picked up 7 hp. considering what people normally pick up with dyno tunes, his tune was EXTREMELY accurate considering he only knew my mods. thanks a bunch ion, your the man!!

I agree totally. I only got the basic tune cuz my car is pretty much stock and it runs a lot cooler cuz of the fans and seems to pull harder. Can't wait to go back to the track to back it up with #'s.

Madwolf for me has been great to deal with also. Unfortunately I don't have my motor back in the car yet to see if his program works. I have a lot of confidence with everyone on here giving praise to Madwolf. I don't have any doubts.

Re: Great work Madwolf!!!

I am getting a stumble at all rpms... My gas milage is horrible as well. I drove the car and let it warm up, and the stuttering/stumbling is at all rpm's. What is the gapping for the spark plugs?? That's the only thing I can think of thats causing the weird stumble at all RPMS.

Ok, they are all gapped at .050. The spark plugs are super black. So It is running really rich. I will contact madwolf and see what he can do.

Looks like carbon black.

*Edit*

I have also gone through over a half tank of gas in 30 miles of driving.
