Question Granelli MAF... worthwhile or not?

I've seen the Granelli (sp) mass air sensors and they claim a 15-20hp gain from the mod. I know the numbers are exagerated, but am wondering if there is an HP gain at all. Are they worth the $300 they cost?

Thanks,

Mike

Granatelli Maf sensors are a waste of money. Get some headers for that amount.

I would say if a person had to replace their MAF because it was faulty/broken then the Granatelli unit may not be a bad buy.......the stocker must be around the same price across the desk at GM.

I saw absolutely no gains at the track. Place your money on some other mod.

How about buying MAF ends and going that route. I thnk they are about $100, if you don't see any increase, then no big loss. ANy other opinions out there on using MAF ends?

WHY? Do you honestly feel that you stock MAF isn't flowing enough? Because it is.

Just stay with the stock MAF. Messing with it is going to make the calibration and data measuring inaccurate and it will also bring no gains. (just more headaches if you ever start working on the programming of your car)

I wasn't planning on doing it myself, I was just curious. However, with my mods, I am kinda tempted to see if I can get anymore flow out of the intake side.

How about a Z06 MAF? Those are like $85. Just need a bit of tuning. Or you can get a reprogrammed Z06 Maf from Granatelli for $150.

We have the reprogrammed one here and we are waiting on the ram air hood before we install it.

I got mine for 175. It did make a differents over the stock unit, and I descreened and ported the stock maf. The Granatelli has a plastic housing that doesn't soak up heat, and has a better air flow. If you have a k&n cai it will help. Anytime you make these changes the computer relearns it settings. Thats why thay made LT1 Edit. Reprogramming the computer will really wake things up.

So going with the Z06 Maf will require reprograming right? Anyone else using that MAF? What are yur experiences? I don't have a programer for my car (yet)... Hmmm.... I'm evewn more confussed now

Maybe I should save the dough and save for something else.
Thanks for your input!

Later,

Mike
