No, their a waste of money, PERIOD :) Their about as ghey as the hypertech.

Best thing to do is port and polish your stock one.

Just leave it stock, if you ever do any serious mods, it can screw up your fueling tables.

SiDeWaYZz28 10-01-2003 11:50 PM

will it work fine with a supercharger??

I would DEFINATELY port it with a SC but, using the granatelli is a lil harder to tune with. Ask all the good tuner's they will tell you the same thing.

Sell that fugger on ebay and get some good cash for something else

Porting the MAF is a great way to screw up your fuel tables as well. The MAF is calibrated to flow a certain cfm of air at varying engine rpms with it's stock size. Changing the way the MAF flows will change the voltage that the PCM will see, and adjust accordingly. Essentially, you run the risk of running rich, or lean, depending on the case. This has been confirmed by myself and a fellow electrical engineer from another site.

Removing the MAF screen is acceptable, but you won't catch me porting mine.

will it be ok to use while supercharged

RamAir95TA 10-02-2003 04:19 PM

If the stock MAF is good enough, I'd think an aftermarket replacement would too.

SiDeWaYZz28 10-02-2003 07:10 PM

do notice any gains??????

foxbat 10-02-2003 08:56 PM

umm, super chevy did a dyno test on this a couple years back and they got something like 15-16 hp on a stock 96 z28. also others on this board who go to the track have noticed improved 1/4 mile times and power gains as well.

Are you talking about porting the stock MAF, or the GMS replacement?
