GP on spec clutches...what do you guys think???

Guys there's group purchases on Spec Clutches, I can get a Spec stage II for 390 bucks...who has this clutch, any pro's con's or anything else you guys may recommend? I'm just doing bolt ons, no cam or anything at least not right now, but I may squeeze a small shot of juice...

Group purchase on this site, check the group purchases forum. Although after reading a lot of posts on here, I don't know that I'm gonna get one now...lots of bad stuff about them...perhaps SLP or a normal mcloud...suggestions guys?

Thats kinda what concerns me. Either they're great or they're complete ****, from what I've read. I searched and pulled up probably 10 different threads earlier reading about them...I'm still open to the spec but makes me very hesitant because I want soemthing that I know will work...

I'm leaning towards the entire SLP disks/pp package or the pp with the mcloud disk. Although Ithink the mecloud would be overkill for my car.

Think you should look at the mcleod dual friction.. i hate spec.. and the slp ain't that much betterthan stock.. the mcleod is a very good entry level clutch i thinkyou'd be very happy with...

Illusion I did a lot of searching last night and dug a link up to the mcloud clutch it looks pretty good, it's about 40 bucks more than the SLP disk...anyone know where to pick up some of this stuff maybe a little cheaper?

Just so you know from what I have read the SLP PP is the same thing as the spec PP.. Same company makes both, just spec paints theirs blue and puts a sticker on it. Anyone, I have about 2Kmiles so far on my stage 2 and so far so good. I doesn't engage as early as it did when I first got it installed but it still grabs hard enough to chirp my Nitto DRs but yet it drives the same as the stock clutch. Hope this helps.

I have a star spec stage 2 clutch, and u spung for the light weight billet flywheel also. I love the clutch, it grabes like an animal. Stage 2 is good for street driving, a few ppl i met have the stage 3 and its extremly hard on the street. Shakes the whole car pretty much. I had a centerforce, spring actualy broke on it. I would say go with star spec, they are great, and have great customer service. A friend of mine had a malfunction with his after like 5,000 miles, and they send him a new one, PP and all.

I have a spec stage 3 and have had no problems. but for anything under 375wrhp the stock clutch works fine and drives a lot nicer the aftermarket and last longer and is usually cheaper. I made 450wrhp on a stock clutch. There are better places to spend money the on a aftermarket clutch if you don need it.
