When i press the cluch all the way down and put it in gear the pedal pulses Sometimes and you can hear a clacking sound coming from around the firewall? I also have a problem getting the car to start after a short stop like at a gas station Sometimes. It really drags. I was wondering if a starter could be to blame for my problems.

If not what else to look for?
