Got an oil leak all of a sudden help em out!!!!

well it just developed and form what I can tell it is coming from the crank seal I guess.

It only leaks when the car runs and warms up and then i park it for a few hours and I get a puddle about a half inch or so in size.

it does not leak when the car is not runnign.

What do i need to replace?

there is no oil on the opti or the upper part of the motor.

just looks like the crank seal, is there a gasket that leaks bad there?

I would buy one of thoes UV dye kits to see where it is really leaking. Under $20 at most autoparts. I bought one a month or so ago and it is one of the best things i ever did tool wise. Seals do leak from time to time. Is your PVC valve ok and working well? If the crank cant get vented it can push oil out of the seals. Just throwing ideas out. I hate oil leaks as well.

Thats what that is!?!?

I am having the same problem. I can fill my car with oil, it has sat for 3 weeks and hasnt drop a single drop. But when the car is warm and I park it, there is the same thing you are describing! A had a buddy mechanic look at it thoroughly and he said it looks like its coming from the intake somewhere but he cant tell exactly where. So its the PVC valve gasket thats bad? I am not driving it now because it leaks so bad. I have to add a quart of oil every 2-3 days because of the bad leak.

You said you were running a breather, so your crankcase is vented to the atmosphere. No way any pressure could build up in the the crankcase even if the PCV system was not functioning.

I have heard before someone thought there crank seal was leaking but it was coming from behind the opti or something. Just a thought.

It looks like it is coming from my intake manifold from what he said... I am waiting on a friend to come help me pull my engine so I can get it rebuilt. Hopefully I will find it at that time.

Same exact issue here. I've recently replaced the cam and new gaskets, so i've probably screwed up the opti seal from what i've read. Too lazy right now to replace it, not that bad of a leak but I certainly do not feel like ripping it apart right now again. It will be replaced, very annoying but also a common problem if you do not get the seal in there perfect. At least from what i've read.
