Got my parts setup for a cc306 install, will they work together?!
Hey Guys, I am still a super newb on this site and think I have figured out all the parts I need for my cc 306 install. I am SO excited. Cant wait to get this together.
CC 306 cam
Trick Flow 7.2" pushrods
Crane Gold Race 1.6 roller rockers
Cloyes Hex adjust timing chain
CSR electric water pump
Crane Cams 10308 Valve Spring Kit
Timing Gasket, intake manifold, and valve cover gasket set
and I already have an underdrive pulley installed so thats covered ( since they take it off to replace the cam anyway ). Anything that I am missing or need to get PLEASE share your wisdom, thanks-

that timing set doesnt sound right
look for the one for '87 and up hydraulic roller blocks...(i dont think that one is listed as a "hex adjust")
might need new waterpump gaskets
will need some RTV for the intake/block mating surface
also need a 1 1/8" or 1 1/16" freeze plug too fill in the hole left over in the timing cover from the old waterpump driveshaft (take your timing cover too a parts store and match one too it)
might need shims too setup the springs and should get a micrometer too get the correct installed height
other then that, beer...lots of patience...take your time...make sure your work areas are clean!!!!
oh, since your car is a '96 making it OBD2 with a CPS (crank position sensor) you will need too have that deleted from the pcm so no codes are thrown
and once you pull the crank hub off and get the timing cover off, you'll see a reluctor wheel for the CPS....this will need too be removed....after it is removed, you will need too find a longer crank hub too take up the extar space left over by the CPS....'93-'95 hubs will do this for you (MUST be an f-body!!!)
gets too be a PITA finding all this stuff but it has too be done

but i can say a "hex a just" timing set isnt needed....especially if it costs more money then the standard double roller set
adjusting the timing on our cars with the timing set usually only leads too trouble down the road

Wow simple, thanks for the very detailed reply, that is EXACTLY what I was looking for. Why does the CPS need to be taken out? I believe what you are saying but would like to learn too (not second guessing, lol). There will be PLENTY of beer, hahaha----Saint, I hear too many bad things about the comp r lifters. Will they free up more power or are they just stronger? ----Thanks for the words or encouragement Formula!!!
EDIT: I bet you guys that read my first post of parts a couple weeks back can tell I am trying to learn, I think I had $5000 in parts listed the first time, hahahaa
