Got my headers today...

They look sweet! I'll be getting Breslin locking header bolts as well. I got scammed out of 300 dollars so I don't have money for a y pipe anymore. I'll probably be able to get the o2 bunges though. The only thing that is weird to me is on the drivers side header it has the tube that is off that I put in. It doesn't seem to mount straight with the rest. Should I also look into getting metal gaskets or are the stock ones fine?

Who scammed you and where does he live? Maybe someone in his area could pay him a visit.

I guess they live in Lebanon, it's under investigation right now with the FBI, the postal investigation etc., I'm not even covered by Paypal either

Re: Got my headers today...

Use fel-pro gaskets if a set didn't come with the headers, copper gaskets leak.

Re: Got my headers today...

What do fel-pro gaskets look like? My headers came with gaskets, but I'm not sure if they are any good. Should I get a 12 or 16 bolt set of Breslins? I think I'm just going to use the 6 nuts and bolts for where the y pipe meets. Do I just get 3" Fel-Pro collector gaskets? What about the bottom of the headers where it has those curved parts? It comes with those gaskets but should I get new ones?

Re: Got my headers today...

Fel-Pro is a gasket manufacturer (i.e. it's a brand name, not the generics that came with your headers). The only way I know to identify them is to look on the package. I got mine from Thunder Racing when I installed my MAC's.

As for your header bolts, you only need 12, but it never hurts to have extras.

And to answer your original question, the primary tube on the #1 (driver's side front) cylinder is a slip-fit design. they build them that way to get the primaries around the steering linkage. Just make sure that you tighten the clamp around the primary where it joins up with the collector after you tighten the bolts into the heads, and everything shouldline up, unless it it seriously bent.

Good luck.

So I will need Fel Pro LT1 D-port gaskets and Fel Pro 3" collector gaskets? What do I clamp down the primary tube?

Also it wouldn't hurt to get some OTVC wires.

I'm not sure about the collector gakets, someone with longtubes will have to chime in on that one, but the D-port gaskets arer the ones you need. My MAC's came with a round metal clamp that fit around the outside of the slip fit connection, I'm not sure what the setup is on the Jet-Hot LT's.

OTVC = Over The Valve Cover

here's a link Thunder Racing

Doing any trading overseas is almost always a bad idea.

Yeah I found that out the hard way. Even though I have traded overseas numerous times with some people I know from other forums, you're always dodging the bullets.
