I have a good running engine in the car, but i couldn't pass up this deal. My plans for the engine are.... balanced, port and polished heads, and some time of cam. I have a budget of about $2000. What do you guys think???? any suggestions

i think it'll be tough doing what you want to do for $2000

You realize that "balance" = COMPLETE teardown and rebuild of the engine, + gaskets + rings + bearings right?

You can't do what you want for $2000.

However, if you emailed Advanced Induction, I'm sure he could set you up with a pretty hefty heads/cam package for $2000.

Yeah, you're not going to escape with a rebuild and such for $2000. Head and cam package, maybe, but definitely not a fresh shortblock.

Have the heads CNCd. Install cam in present engine. Install CNCd heads in present engine.

Put rest of engine in the trunk for traction.

You also realize that you are going to need headders and other supporting items. Not just all engine. Just something to think about.

that's what i thought ^^. I know i guy that builds sprint car engines and sells them to teams and he said he could balance it and do headwork for cheap.
