got the cutout

got the cutout
had my cutout put on last night between the cat and axle. it is not as loud as i hoped it would be. the sound isnt too bad but a little raw. my complaint is that is feels like the car is gonna vibrate apart, esp the console. overall i suppose it was worth 35 plus 30 for installation. i also had the bolts welded in place so putting the cap on may be easier.

Re: got the cutout
the area for optimal sound is right before the bend in the I-pipe where it goes over the axle.... Mine seems to impress a lot of people, apparently I guessed correctly on its location. pics in the sig if you want to see em.

Re: got the cutout
Add a set of poly motor and tranny mounts and then talk about vibes. Oh and a crappy steel drive shaft.
I know all about vibrations.
Long tubes, no cat and a cutout do sound quite nice though.
I am happy with my switch however. Not as raw or loud, but much deeper.

Re: got the cutout
i think i can live with the vibrating. i was just thinking it would be a lot louder. i may gut the cat next. anyone had anything damaged under the car with the exhaust blowing everywhere?

Re: got the cutout
my vibrates everything even any change I have sitting inthe dish. Mine is right before the axel, it sounds damn good. Everyone I know says it sounds good, escpecially coupled w/ magnaflow catback when I rev it it sounds very beefy and when you first turn it on it sounds awsome coming to life.

Re: got the cutout
I put mine right before the rear axle and at first I had little to no vibration, but now its gotten pretty bad. Fortunatly I can't hear the rattling over the cutout and stereo :-)

Re: got the cutout
i got mad vibrations when i hacked the exhaust off behind the cat(needed to goto work and ran out of time). but i put my headers on and 3" off road y-pipe on and i put the cutout just b4 the bend over the axle like everyone else said(fits perfectly back there) and i get no vibes, just loud throuty sounds...lol. im makin my own electric door for it.
