got back from the track....got many questions.

Ok now i think i will qualify as the worst driver of the century. Anyways, this is my second time to the track and i kno I have a lot to improve upon.

60' 2.486

330 6.238

1/8 9.240 @82.37 mph

1000' 11.766

1/4 13.864@107.4 mph

Now, i think i need a lot more practice first. second, i need more grip. I spun off the line obviously, short shifted at 6200rpm into second which lit the tires back up a decent amount. Shorted third at 6300rpms. I was gaining on the other TA hard so i kept third till 6500rpm going into 4th. I only got two runs in at Etown so practice with all my new mods was minimal. My mph seems a bit low as well but i think thats due to me not revvin it out properly in each gear. I dyno'd at 378rwhp and 367rwtq with 4 degrees of false knock which im in the process of tracking down.

Im guessing it comes down to me improving my driving and actually getting more than 2 runs in. First run was close to this run but I couldnt focus cause I had this beast of an old GTO next to me which made it unbearable to even hear my car at all. excuses aside, be gentle please. lol. im in need of some learnage

I think you answered yourself pretty good. You should be a lot lower then that but you need traction. Get some dr's and get that 60' down to like a 1.8 or so and see the et drop dramaticly.

well as you can see you do need to work on your 60 foot. If you wee on street tires i would suggest getting drag radials. That will deffinetly help with your 60. that alone will improve your E.T. I ran a 13.65 at 102 with a fairly stock 97 TA with just intake exhaust.you might want to also consider some suspension mods b/c if you cant keep it on the ground your just gonna spin. But in general practice will deffinetly help. dont get discouraged hell my first time i ran a 15 so with practice i was able to bring that down a good bit.

looks similar to my track results, we both are going to need suspension mods and a 12bolt to get the full potential outta our cars.

well thanks for the kind but constructive words. I was on street tires....GS-D3's on the stock 16's with normal tire pressure. how deep could I get in the 12's with a much better 60 (around 2.0 ish) and improved driving. I know the car has more mph and isnt showing the power it made but how much more could i reasonably expect? Thanks

GSD3's are some of the best street tires out there (non dr's). I cut a 1.917 60' with them with my stock convertor A4. Also 107mph is definatly low for your mods.

Re: got back from the track....got many questions.

yes i agree its low, I didnt wind the engine to redline in each gear so i think part of that is to blame. I love the gs-d3's but I think i just overpowered the tires on the launch. I need to slip the clutch a lot more than i was. Anyway, i'll get to the bottom of this. the car didnt feel weak in the least bit but I should be trapping much higher. time will tell
