Got it!

Alright I flew to Florida last week and got a Camaro. Its a white 1994 Z28 with black t-tops. Has new 6 speed trans and rear end was just rebuilt. Camaro came with headers, no cats (I think) and flowmaster exaust. The car also has chrome valve covers, don't know why? The guys also just bought new 16 inch wheels and tires, again I don't know why he didn't upgrade to a bigger wheel size. I found the car on Auto trader and bought it the first day it was listed. It was listed for $3895 and I got the guy down to $3450. Drove all the way back to Texas no problem.

Heres my question: I know you guys know a lot more about these LT1 engines than I do. The car has 135000 miles on the engine. What would you guys do, (in order) to see why the car isn't getting much power below 2000 rpms? Its like I have to pop the clutch eveytime I try to take off moderatly quickly. I'm sure the car could use a tune up, but what do you guys think is causing the hesitation and what would you do to remedy it? Thanks a lot in advance------AZ28

congrats. That sounds like a good buy. The low power sounds like it could be fuel or ignition. Try plugs and wires and fuel filter.

Good luck with the car, you will love it.

I have a similer problem because I got a bad load of gas a week or two ago. Now I think the fuel filter is dirty as hell, and will be changing it this weekend. If it is not that then change the ignition wires and check the spark plugs. hope that helps.

that is a great deal. I would give her the full tune up.

MUST DO: fuel filter, plugs, air filter(check/replace/upgrade to cold air), change oil/filter, check your O2's if they are AC's then they are prob stock, they MUST be replaced, cause bad gas mlg and loss of power exactly like your saying, it has more power later(after hesitation, b/c o2's are not use for WOT computer calculations.) Check all vaccum lines while your at it.

MAYBE: If plug wires are stock, then they MUST be changed, maybe change coil?, Coolant flush........

That is an excellent deal. Great buy, i spent a little over 6,000 on mine, but it was perfect, and only 70k miles as well, nevr been hot rodded(Before i got it that is )......Have fun with the Z

Thumbs up

Congrat's on your new car. You will have a lot of fun, but be careful. It's nice to know that there is one less rice burner on the streets of Austin.
