Is this a good K member?

I have been lookin at this K member for quite awhile. I was wondering if anyone on here has it and what thier thoughts on it were. Is it junk? Or is it a quality piece? Thanks

It doesn't even mention what the brand name is. it's kind of hard to tell by just looking at it through a pic on the internet whether what you're seeing is good or junk.
At first I thought it was a BMR piece, but it says it's pro-fabbed. By who?

The company is Pro Fabb out of Indiana. I dont expect anyone to tell me if it "Looks" like a good piece by seeing the picture. I just wondered if anyone has bought it or heard anything about it. Thanks

Re: Is this a good K member?

The items they sell look very similar to the parts that BMR sells. I'm not sure if BMR get their parts from other places or if they make them in house. I do know that they get their springs from another company. At least that's what I was told when I bought their springs.

Re: Is this a good K member?

I have 2 of those k-members, a black and red one....the one thing that is different from the bmr's is the pro-fab's don't have integrated motor mounts. That is why I bought the pro-fab instead of the bmr. I've read several threads about the integrated bmr's starting to sag after awhile, plus being able to remove the motor/frame mounts from the pro-fab offers more clearence when installing/changing headers or pulling the engine from the top.
I haven't installed mine yet, probably going to wait until next spring until right before I get the car out again.
Why do I have two of them you ask........well, that's a long story....but the black one will be for sale when I get around to it, and it has the tubular lower a-arms with adjustable rod-ends along with it if your interested.

I hope this helped.

So, do the parts appear to be high quality and worth buying? I'm thinking about getting some of their stuff, but I'm not going to buy it unless I hear some positive things about their products.

Jeremy,

How much would you want for the whole thing? I would be interested whenever you get around to it.

Sorry, I didn't mean to sound like an ***. The material that they use is the same as the other more renown ones are using. For the price, you can't go wrong. The only thing I was worried about, was the fitment, and lining up the holes, dowels, and stuff like that. Now that I've seen people have used this product, that answered my concerns about the fit of it.

I'd say go for it.

Re: Is this a good K member?

i have a 3rdgen, so i cant give you direct help, but i do have a Kmember from them for 3rdgens, ive installed 3 of them in diffrent 3rdgens.. all fit great, and were a good quality, well designed piece.

the mounts are optional on their stuff to allow you to do custom stuff if you choose.. for example, on a 3rdgen, i can orderit without motormounts or spring perches... good for if im building a drag car with motor plates and coil overs...
options are good.

I'd also be interested in this. What are you asking for it?

The guy who started Pro Fab used to work for PA Racing. Jason still runs PA, Vern has Pro Fab. I'd be a little leary buying anything from Pro Fab.

why?
verns a great guy. hes bent over backwards to help me and some people i know online.
hes the one who made the jigs for the 3rdgen Kmember for PA... thats why he can make almost identical ones as profab.....

hes a good guy, got in a disagreement with his partner, and now hes a good guy in his own shop... thats my take on it atleast.

the make a quality part... and a quality part + good service run by good people = ok in my book.
