going quick with manifolds
going quick with manifolds
I am looking to see various combinations that are fairly quick running stock exhaust manifolds. I have a six speed formula with very low miles I am trying to keep looking as stock as possible.
I already have the exhaust and intake as modified as I can and keep the original look. I have a G2 intake sans any markings, a slp y-pipe and am working on cutting open a stock muffler to remove baffling and replace with straight pipe inside the muffler casing.
I am really looking for cam and or head advice and ideas. LPE has a grind or two that looks good, and the hot cam is a proven set-up. I would simply like to use others experience to help guide my decsions.
Please do not tell me I should just run long tubes. I know they would make more power. That is just not the route I am taking this time.
thanks,
jim

Well if your going that far, here are some ideas
you could have the exhaust manafolds extrud honed, to open them up some
then throw a cutout and make her silent till you need the extra flow
i would choose a cam that favored the exhaust side and had a large split and a wide lsa
Something like 210 to 215 with around 500 lift on the intake: and 228 to 230 with around 550 lift on the exhaust
thats with stock heads of course
on a 114 or higher
then i would work on some suspension

i was able to run consistant 13.0's on stock manifolds with nothing more than bolt ons. it is possible to run fast with them. the only thing is, is that the more power u add, the more restriction they become. just something to think about. u would be giving up a ton of power with heads and cam and stock manifolds.
